Since the ecomony is bottoming out... it seems that prices on everything seem to be dropping. I recently found some salivation-worthy golf equipment that I purchased immediately... a full set of golf clubs... Callaway X-20 irons! 3i-Pw, this set has custom weighting and shaft stiffness that's perfect for a guy my height, taking into consideration my swing speed and posture... they are amazingly accurate: Seriously, I don't think I could throw a football as straight as I can hit a golf ball with these irons... it's amazing. I get a full-on Kool-Aid Man smile on my face every time I hear that lovely "THWACK!" as the iron grabs a touch of grass right beneath that ball and fires it like a cannon off into the sunset, eclipsing the flag as it sails almost magnetically towards the green with enough backspin to make even the most equilibrious (yes, I made this word up) figure skater vomit from the dizzies.
Despite that ridiculous tangent, the point is that there is an upside to this downer economy... things are getting cheaper, and not just the necessities, but also the fun stuff like golf junk for golfin' junkies.

Old-School Golf Hats
See the thing about them is they're cool (retro, vintage cool) as long as they go with the outfit, which includes buckled shoes, knee socks, and a pair of plaid knickers. Today, if you wear one just for the hell of it, then I dub thee a jackass.
Go buy yourself a few real golf hats that suit today's style tastes, get them in all your favorite colours, get one that really "brings out your eyes" I don't really care... just get one or two or a bakers dozen soon. The bill will protect your eyes, and the style will protect mine from seeing a jackass out on the golf course.
:-)
Oh, and if you do decide to go old school with your garb, at least use some updated golf equipment, like clubs and bags and what-not. No one wants to see a guy shooting triple bogie with a set of old woodies and a 19 pound bag that was old enough to vote in the Nixon election...

Get your golf equipment now! It's on sale!!!
So it's that time of year again... new golf equipment comes on the market and I have to sift through countless gimmicks and money traps to find the good stuff. Luckily, I've been doing my research and have learned that if you need new clubs this year, Taylormade irons are the way to go. They provide longer, straighter shots with more spin than Fox news... that means they'll hit the green, they'll BITE the green, and stay there while you walk up, bragging to your friends before you sink that 3-foot putt for yet another birdie. Start rackin' up the skins and your golfing buddies' respect with a new set of irons this season. Trust me!

Attention! golf equipment is on sale!
Yep, that's right... every time spring begins to approach, you can find spectacular deals on all your "necessary" golf equipment... Although your wife may wonder why you need a new putter after just purchasing one last year, you know why you need a new one... because playing with new-fangled equipment and this year's newest innovations in golf is FUN! I think this year, I'm going to look at Taylormade drivers. In my opinion, they are the best in the game, and the shapes and weight designs that they are making this year are absolutely extraordinary. I'm hoping to lower my handicap by at least 3 strokes over the summer, so wish me luck!

Making a great shot...
all starts with the tee box. Consider Blind 9 to be your tee box, and consider their great selection of golf shirts and golf equipment to be the ball. Carefully browse the site the same way you would scope out a new hole, choose your target, then make that shot... right into the virtual cart! a true hole in one!!!

meh.
The technology in this year's line of golf equipment all kinds is simply amazing... especially the drivers. With the new square heads and moveable weighting, my swing should be straighter and longer than ever! Unfortunately, there isn't one club on the market that will improve your game solely. As the old adage goes practice makes perfect, and many clubs on the market (especially drivers and putters) advertise themselves similar to a too-good-to-be-true weight loss scheme where you can drop dozens of pounds in weeks all while avoiding the gym and eating what you want.
To be honest, golf equipment is particularly susceptible to gimmicks... so beware of those! There are no miracles in the titanium and carbon fiber of a club... the magic happens on the course when you make that one perfect shot... that shot that keeps you coming back (and spending an arm and a leg on green fees!)

A Little Friendly Advice Regarding my Favorite Sport!
Here's a word of advice... if you're going to upgrade your golf equipment, try to find used clubs, especially irons! Irons are super tough so you don't have to worry about them being worn out, and oftentimes you'll find clubs with custom shafts to better suit your swing style and tend to be all-around superior to standard shafts on most new iron sets. You can also find wedges with lofts that better suit your game...
But don't just think about your clubs... consider other golf equipment, especially a good ball... one that will provide enough distance to give you more Eagle opportunities on par 5s, but with enough feel around the green to lower the number of those terribly harsh three-putts on your scorecard that leave you shaking your head over that ice-cold beer on the 19th hole.
Another piece of equipment that's imperative to my game are those Brush Tees... the ball comes off of them much cleaner than from wooden tee, and I tend to get longer, straighter drives due to the ball-height factor being taken out of consideration. I've been hitting twice as many fairway drives since I switched!
And good luck... it's a frustrating game... but it only takes one stellar shot per round to keep us golf fiends coming back to the course every Saturday...
